B2B commodities trader (M/F) – electricity/gas

We are looking for an experienced B2B commodities trader to join our team. He/she will take over our existing client portfolio and actively develop business opportunities in the commercial real estate and industrial manufacturing segments.

What you will be doing with us

  • Taking over and developing the existing B2B customer base.

  • Active acquisition of new clients, especially in the following areas: commercial real estate (investment property funds, office buildings, shopping centres, retail parks, logistics sites) and industrial businesses (production premises, industrial parks).

  • Sale and management of the product portfolio: FIX, SPOT, gradual purchases, product combinations.

  • Preparation of customised offers and sales scenarios.

  • Managing the whole sales process through to the signing of a final contract for the supply and distribution of electricity.

  • For gradual purchases: key account/buyer role—realisation of purchases and tranches according to the client’s requirements.

  • Monitoring of energy markets—exchange products, daily electricity market, PPAs, purchases from renewable energy sources, overflows, electricity sharing mechanisms.

  • Work with business analyses, margins, pricing and evaluations of business results.

     

What we would like to see from you

  • Demonstrable experience in the B2B sector in the power industry or relevant experience from commodity markets (at least 3 years).

  • Good knowledge of energy markets – PXE/EEX exchange, daily spot market, intraday market, PPAs, renewable energy sources.

  • Ability to structure and present complex sales solutions and conduct negotiations at the executive level.

  • High degree of personal initiative, ability to make independent decisions and ability to turn business opportunities into specific results.

  • Analytical thinking, emphasis on business performance and the ability to manage margins in accordance with a strategy.

  • Group B driving licence and willingness to travel around the whole Czech Republic.

  • Demonstrable experience of trading and purchasing electricity, by securing sales tranches.

  • Knowledge of the mechanisms for sharing electricity and related legislative frameworks.

  • Awareness of the purchase of electricity from renewable energy sources and overflows.

  • Awareness of the gas market and demonstrable experience with trade intermediation.
